Proposals to freeze council tax in Devon AND spend an extra eight point seven million pounds on front-line services go before the County Council this afternoon.
Much of the additional spending will go towards safeguarding children's services, following a cut in Government funding, and infrastructure development, including repairs to flood-damaged roads.
The leader of the council John Hart says he's proud that their money-saving measures are allowing them to invest in services AND keep council tax at its current level.
