The takeover of Exeter airport by new owners has been welcomed by the leader of Devon county council.
John Hart was invited to meet the chairman of the Rigby Group, following their announcement of their acquisition of the airport from the previous owners, Balfour Beatty, last week.
Sir Peter Rigby has already said he's committed to developing his company's aviation interests and very confident about Exeter airport's future, expecially as passenger numbers are now rising after a slump during the recession.
Speaking after the meeting, John Hart said he felt confident that the Rigby Group would invest in the airport and that they were in it 'for the long haul'.
