Lord Mayor hosts reception
Exeter Chiefs fans enjoyed a chance to see their all-conquering heroes when players and representatives of the club take part in a ‘virtual’ civic presentation.
The Lord Mayor, Councillor Peter Holland, is to honour the Chiefs in an online ceremony which will be broadcast live on Facebook. The ceremony took place on Thursday and is available on Exeter City Council's Facebook page.
Last month the Chiefs completed a historic domestic League and European Cup double, bringing yet more silverware back to their Sandy Park home.
The trophies will be on display at Thursday’s ceremony. In normal circumstances there would have been a civic parade and presentation at Exeter’s historic Guildhall. However this has had to be scaled back to a virtual ceremony because of the Coronavirus pandemic.
