A public meeting takes place later this month to discuss the plan to keep wild beavers living on the river Otter.
The Devon Wildlife Trust want to test the beavers for disease and then monitor their environmental impact for the next five years, in a project costing around 50 thousand pounds.
Natural England, who would have to licence the project, have arranged the meeting to hear people's views and see how much support there is locally.
The meeting takes place at Ottery St Mary Scout Centre on January 14th.
